A wedding Poem for Adrian and Karen
A very special day today
For you and Adrian
The 30th March 2002
Wedded life you now begin.
You met a good few years ago
One drunken weekend night
While out on town with all your mates
That meeting was so right.
I remember the night quite clearly
Though enough drink that night I’d had
You said “I’m not going home – not yet
I’ve pulled this Kippax lad!”
Christmas 1999
Your pressie was all the thing
You said “I may be totally wrong
But I think Aid’s bought me a ring.”
And sure enough that feeling was true
No need to hesitate or linger
For on Christmas Day 1999
The ring was on your finger!
An engagement party in February
Was where we celebrated
And drank and danced, and danced and drank
And got quite inebriated!
I only found out last week
Of the action in the loos
Oh the things that happen at engagement parties
When you’ve sunken too much booze!
The wedding date approached so quickly
2 Hen Nights came to pass
A night of Mystery, Murder and Suspense
And a drinking binge for our lass.
We all survived and had a ball
But then came the time for bed
After poles and non stop dancing
And some rude hats on our heads!
And so at last the day has come
The vows are said and done
The serious part has successfully passed
And now it’s time for fun.
I wish you all the very best
In this life you start together
To Mr and Mrs Adrian O’Neill
May you last forever and ever.
